Anar was the Navigator aboard the Harbinger of Glory. Being near him is unpleasant, so you are grateful that he rarely leaves the Navigator’s Spire. He is never seen without at least 2 bodyguards.
House D’Nast’s involvement with the Black Dynasty is shrouded in mystery, but there is thought to have been a D’Nast Navigator aboard the Harbinger of Glory continuously for the last thousand years.
As the Black Dynasty’s fortunes have risen and fallen, House D’Nast has established a base of operations on the edge of the Calixis sector from which it loans out Navigators for mercantile houses to use in their endeavours.
Anar D’Nast was trained from youth to be an astute and skilled Navigator, and as a Scion of the house Patriarch it was hoped that he would one day lead the house. However, his mutations manifested, and merely being near him became unpleasant for all. This doomed those hopes. He spent years stationed aboard the Harbinger of Glory, in orbit over Malfi, awaiting the day when the Harbinger of Glory would ply the stars.
Oleg Optimo Völlus quickly supplanted Anar D’Nast, and he now finds himself in place on the Black Hand. While he leveraged this slight against him to get greater pay and considerations in treasure distributions he now harbours a burning disgust for Oleg and his kin.
