Tense journeys through the warp, deftly avoided by skilled navigator and pilot. Arrive at Footfall, where they see two Imperial Navy ships docked. A Cobra Destroyer, heavily damaged, and a vast Lunar Cruiser.
On arrival, the crew go shopping for a long list of items – sadly only some of it is available! Eventually, they are reminded that the Kasabalica Mission wants to hear of the happenings on Egaria. They go to meet Vladaym Tocara at a nondescript warehouse, bringing Overseer Leerus with them. They talk over the events of Egaria (leaving out some key parts). They turn over Overseer Leerus – his implied fate is gruesome.
While shopping, a mysterious man says he will be able to get a particular rare item – he just needs an advance to get the wheels moving. The Captain, reassured by her crew, hands over the cash.
Elorn sets some of her spy crew to work at Footfall, gathering information and intelligence.
A Naval detachment arrives at the Harbinger of Glory to invite the Lady-Captain and her key crew to a formal dinner. She attends, with only Talon to bodyguard her. Oleg receives a separate invitation from the Navigator of the Navy vessel (Bu’Rath). The dinner seems a bit stiff, but is otherwise enjoyable. However, Captain Steevan Keel sends his attendants and officers away, and discusses with the Lady-Captain of a system associated with her family – Svard. He relays that it would be in both their interests to visit Svard and to locate an Imperial Envoy – his twin brother, Kaal Keel.
On his return to the ship, Oleg researches the archives of the Harbinger of Glory, where he meets an old man, Orbest Dray. He is eventually able to locate some basic information on the Svard system, as well as a warp map revealing a shortcut to the system.
Follow a mystery figure into a disco night club
Negotiations to try and get in! Calling for back up
Great expense to finally gain entry. Through various distractions and investigations they find that they were watched by a xeno who fled through the club.
Various loose ends tied up, they leave Footfall.
The warp translation goes well, but Oleg is suddenly unable to read the currents, and has to call for an exit from the warp before schedule. However, by some baleful force, both the Harbinger of Glory and the Black Hand have arrived in the system – Foulstone.
They are only in the system for a short period when they receive a warped vox message – an Eldar Xeno. The Autarch demands the return of the Hollow Atlas, stating that such a device should not fall into primitive hands.
The Magos steps up, sensing a threat from these xenos, and deploys ancient technology she had spent the last weeks integrating into the ship.
Elorn and the Captain negotiate with the xeno, convincing him that they handing over all artefacts from Egaria to Vladaym Tocara. The Autarch leaves, but states that should they meet again he would “recover the Hollow Atlas from the wreckage of your primitive vessels”.
Clued in that perhaps the Hollow Atlas is of value, Oleg asks for permission to visit it in the Trophy Room. Through great exertion, he activates it and it reveals a safe passage through the warp to Svard. Greatly pleased by this device, the Lady-Captain immediately orders the journey to continue.
